The following are direct quotes lifted from the pages of "Chenega Cabin Journal #1" "We can't say enough about this cabin- everything you need is here! Our kids loved the loft, hot tub, and deck! Wonderfully beautiful spot- loved it for the scenery, coziness, functionality, simplicity and quiet. Feels like we're the only people on the whole lake!" "We had a great time living a rustic life & tramping around the forest here... the sun never seemed to go to bed!" "Not enough pages in this book to say all there is to say about this cabin and its surroundings. Our honeymoon was magic from the second we set foot inside." "Time here makes you reconsider your priorities. It makes you realize things you need that you'd forgotten about: the sound of nothing but wind; the breezy dash of rainwater on your face as you're warmly nestled under a blanket outside, reading by the fireplace; curious little critters popping their little heads up; the sound of a crackling fire; the stark beauty of standing alone on a dock in/above alpine waters... ...Our time here was too short. But it was the reset we needed. This place sets the bar. Thank you." "If only we could have stayed longer! This cabin you've built is absolutely beautiful. We could not have imagined a more amazing way to spend our honeymoon. Everything about our stay was perfect from deck fires to skinny dip sauna runs!" "We stayed 3 nights. Only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. My boyfriend and I booked this in the middle of our "Alaskan Adventure". I am used to staying in 5 star hotels and was very apprehensive to say the least. I LOVED IT!!! We enjoyed ourselves immensely here. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful experience and sharing it! We will be back." "Great rustic cabin, real remote feel. Loved the five-star spa-banja, hot tub, and lake!" "I must say this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Every morning I would wake up with dappled sunlight showering on my face. I would go outside and listen to the water lapping on the shore. The trees would whisper with the wind and birds would sing in the distance. The forest floor was covered in thick and lush greenery. Glens of moss make nice napping places :) I saw Canadian geese, ducks, thrushes, and eagles... At night little bats flittering around... I sat on a log and saw some very small little fish... The tranquility of this place was astounding" "This place is truely amazing, I'm glad I could be a part of this." "This is the second time we've stayed here and it's one of our favorite places in Alaska. Jan has pretty much thought of everything here! We can't evangelize using the hot sauna WITH the cold lake enough! We've never felt cleaner in our life. Take a few drinks to the mudroom and crack a window!" "Skipping stones, fishing from the dock, rowing a boat and identifying wildflowers..." "Nice to go to sleep listening to water lapping against the dock" "Another amazing stay here! Thank you!" "Thank you Chenega cabin. Thank you for reminding me how to pause, take a breath, and live." (We are 4 cabins located on 15 acres at the headwaters of the Kenai River! Check out our other listings! House (1 sq. ft.) in Cooper Landing, AK
1.6 miles from Kenai Lake
Cooper Landing Lodge started off as our weekend home in Cooper Landing, AK in 2014. Our family enjoys fishing and hanging around the campfire, but not the discomfort of sleeping on the ground and loading up the car when camping. As the summer of 2018 came to an end, a local Cooper Landing resident offered to help us run our home as a Vacation Rental to others. This was the start of us opening our home to strangers in the hopes they are able to create cherished memories using Cooper Landing Lodge as a base camp. We love sharing our home with visitors and friends, so we have strived to make it family friendly. It includes a pack-n-play, booster seat, and games for all ages to play. The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy cooking in the wilderness, Oven, Microwave, dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer. When your adventure results in dirty clothes you can wash and dry them at the cabin. No need to go to a laundromat or wait until you get home. Our home has an air hockey table, and Nintendo 64. Enjoy showing the younger generation how you had to stay entertained! We also have a Blue-ray disk player and a few DVDs. When it's time to retire for the night we have a queen bed and a full size bed upstairs with access to a full bathroom. In the basement there are two rooms, each with a queen bed and a pack-n-play in a closet. In the main living area we have a pull out couch. The second bathroom is located in the entry.

House (2319 sq. ft.) in Cooper Landing, AK
2.2 miles from Kenai Lake
The house is located a five hundred yards upriver on the opposite bank from the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge, just upstream the Upper River rapids. The living set up is ideal for a romantic couple, a family of 6 or 4-5 friends. Moose, bear, bald eagles, beavers, goats and mountain sheep are commonly seen from the property. Outside there are plentiful wild raspberries in late summer, an outdoor sauna and wade fishing for Rainbows and Dollies. Wildlife viewing from the property in May can be fantastic before the river opens for fishing. Bald eagles frequently hunt from the trees in the backyard during the early season. The fly fishing for trophy rainbow trout and Dolly Varden on the upper river is tremendous between July and late October. In late September and October silver salmon begin to spawn in the river behind the house. The fall season in Cooper Landing is arguably the most beautiful time of the year. As the summer season comes to an end the rainbow trout and silver salmon fishing is at its peak as the deciduous trees turn bright yellow and orange. The Kenai River is open for fishing between June 11th and May 1st. The ADF&G website is a great source of information on the latest fishing regulations.
